Johor polls: PAS to discourage votes for Pakatan, even in seats it is not contesting

PETALING JAYA: PAS will mobilise its election machinery in the 11 seats it is contesting in the Johor polls to reach out to voters to reject Pakatan Harapan, including seats where there are contests between Barisan Nasional and Pakatan.

PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said the party's central leadership on Monday (June 29) agreed on several resolutions for the Johor polls.

Among these were to defend what PAS described as "Malay-Muslim political power in Johor" and reach out to as many voters as possible under the slogan "Jom Jaga Johor".

"The meeting also resolved to call on voters not to support Pakatan Harapan, including in constituencies witnessing straight fights between Barisan and Pakatan," he said in a statement on Monday (July 29).

Abdul Hadi added that PAS had also begun early preparations for the Negri Sembilan elections.
