Two killed in sports car crash

KUALA LUMPUR: Two people were killed after a sports car crashed into a road divider along the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (Duke).

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said preliminary investigations indicated that the car was travelling at high speed before the driver lost control. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire.

He said the car was driven by a 22-year-old man studying at the University of Brisbane in Australia.

“Also inside the vehicle were a 21-year-old local student and a 20-year-old Singaporean.

“The crash claimed the lives of two people. The lone survivor, who was seated in the back, sustained injuries,” he added.

ACP Mohd Zamzuri said preliminary questioning has been conducted and police have requested surveillance camera footage from the surrounding area.
