PETALING JAYA: Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) has unveiled its leadership line-up, with sacked Bersatu deputy president and Reset Movement leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin appointed president.
Veteran politician Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim has been named chairman in the party’s top leadership that features a mix of political figures, former ministers, professionals and several former Bersatu leaders.
Former Johor Bersatu Associate chief Datuk Tan Lek Khang was appointed deputy president.
The five vice-presidents are former Melaka Bersatu chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik, Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan, former Pahang Bersatu Associate chief Datuk Leong Kim Soon, Datuk Mohd Omar Mustapha and former Parti Cinta Malaysia president Datuk Huan Cheng Guan.
Indera Mahkota MP Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah, who was previously sacked from Bersatu, was named secretary-general, while Datuk Arifin Tobias was appointed treasurer-general.
Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, another former Bersatu leader who was expelled from the party, was appointed information chief. He previously served as Bersatu Youth chief.
The leadership line-up is rounded out by 25 central committee members.

Among them are Dzowahir Ab Ghani, Datuk Muhamed Farid Mohamed Zawawi, Fathul Huzair Ayob, Kpt Azahari Hasan, Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Ibrahim Shah Abu Shah, Datuk Suhaimi Mohd Ghazali, Datuk Zulkifli Bujang, Datuk Simon Suresh V Varunamegam, Khaliq Mehtab Mohd Ishaq, Datuk Asmawi Harun, Datuk Abdul Aziz Ismail and Dayang Saniah Awang Hamid.
The party, which held its annual general meeting on Saturday, also confirmed its registration with the Registrar of Societies.
Hamzah, who is also Opposition leader, officially announced the formation of Parti Wawasan Negara during the Reset Convention in Tanah Merah, Kelantan, on June 13, after being expelled from Bersatu in February.
