RM1.08bil channelled to Johor for housing, infrastructure over four years, says Nga

PUTRAJAYA: The Housing and Local Government Ministry has allocated RM1.08bil to Johor over the past four years for the upgrading, repair and maintenance of infrastructure, public facilities and people's housing, says its Minister Nga Kor Ming.

He also said the allocation showed the Madani government's ongoing commitment to ensuring the people of Johor, regardless of background or area, enjoy balanced and inclusive development.

He added that the allocation was a result of the ministry's "Sentuhan Kasih" programme to identify the real needs of the people and to directly resolve local issues.

In a statement Monday (June 22), Nga said this also reflects the close cooperation between the Federal Government and the state government to ensure every planned project can be implemented efficiently and provide maximum impact to the people of the state.

He also invited caretaker Johor mentri besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi to join him in the Sentuhan Kasih Johor 2026 programme at the Taman Ungku Tun Aminah Flats in Skudai on Thursday (June 25).

He said Johor is currently on a very strategic growth path as the country's main economic gateway and, as such, needs quality urban infrastructure and housing to support future development.

The two-day Sentuhan Kasih Johor 2026 programme, starting Thursday, will involve 13 locations. - Bernama
