Seminar introduces students to drone tech

PUPILS from SJK(T) Ladang Katoyang in Tanjung Malim were introduced to drone technology thanks to a collaboration between a private company and the Education Department.

Malaysian drone startup founder Elangovan Thangavelu and technical innovator Aravind Asok Kumar conducted the seminar.

The training session was launched by Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang who is also Tanjung Malim MP.

Drone technology has had a significant impact in farming, disaster recovery, security, logistics and delivery, and other fields.

Introducing pupils to the technology can also pique their interest in the science and engineering behind it, he said during the seminar.

The minister also officiated the opening of the drone lab at the school which was supported by the ministry, drone startup EWRF, the parent-teachers association, school board and Education Department.
