Boy dies after collapsing at water park in Selangor

PETALING JAYA: A four-year-old boy died after collapsing shortly after leaving a water park pool on Sunday (June 16).

Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said preliminary investigations found that the victim had apparently collapsed on his own after leaving the pool area before he was seen in a weak and unconscious state.

“The victim collapsed while walking after coming out of the pool. The child was taken to Hospital Sungai Buloh for further treatment before he was pronounced dead by a medical officer,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (June 16).

He said investigations so far had not uncovered any elements of foul play, and police were continuing their inquiries to determine the actual cause of the victim’s death.

He added that members of the public with information related to the incident could contact investigating officer Insp Muhamad Zul Irfan Omar at 017-539 3648 or the nearest police station to assist in the investigation.

Supt Mohd Hafiz also advised the public against making speculation or spreading unverified information regarding the incident.
