Babysitter charged with girl’s death


SEPANG: A babysitter was charged in a Magistrate’s Court here today with the murder of a 23-month-old girl under her care in Puchong last month.

The accused, Nur Syuhaida Jamalluddin, 33, was alleged to have murdered Dhiya Falisha Mustaqim between 9.31am and 11.24 am on May 18 at a unit in Apartment Kiambang, Taman Putra Perdana.

The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code, carries the death penalty or imprisonment of between 30 and 40 years, along with no fewer than 12 strokes of the cane, upon conviction.

The court fixed July 14 for mention.
