KUALA LUMPUR: Lawyers for Toh Puan Na'imah Abdul Khalid have denied police claims that she and her two sons were uncontactable during an investigation of activities deemed harmful to parliamentary democracy.
The team said in a statement that Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Comm Datuk M. Kumar's comment that police were unable to reach their clients was inaccurate.
"We refer to the statement by Comm Kumar regarding investigation papers referred to the Attorney General’s Chambers under Section 124B of the Penal Code.

"We strongly refute his claims that the police were unable to contact Na’imah and her sons.
"This misleading claim creates an entirely inaccurate impression regarding our clients' cooperation.
"Legal counsel responded in writing on the same day the police notice was received.
"Our clients remain fully contactable and cooperative through their lawyers," read the statement, issued on Wednesday (June 3).

The lawyers also criticised the probe, claiming that this was based on a police report lodged by a disgruntled employee.
The legal team further alleged there was 'selective enforcement' in the probe against Na'imah and her sons, citing other cases.
They also cautioned against the use of Sosma on a groundless employment dispute involving a private citizen.
