SEREMBAN: Almost all 17 Pakatan Harapan assemblymen in Negri Sembilan have gathered for a special meeting at the Mentri Besar's official residence Tuesday (June 2) morning following talk of the impending dissolution of the legislative assembly.

They began arriving separately around 9.30am.

Absent were state DAP chief and Chennah assemblyman Anthony Loke, Rahang assemblyman Desmond Siau and Klawang assemblyman Datuk Bakri Sawir..

However, the Mentri Besar's office told the media in a WhatsApp message that no press conference has been scheduled for Tuesday.

"The Mentri Besar will have a routine audience with the state Ruler (Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir) tomorrow (Wednesday, June 3) before chairing the state exco meeting.

"We will let the media know if there will be the usual press conference after the state exco meeting," it read.

The last state polls were held on Aug 12, 2023.

Pakatan won 17 seats followed by Barisan Nasional (14) and Perikatan Nasional (five).

In a message on social media later, state DAP secretary Cha Kee Chin said the meeting was a normal one to discuss the preparedness of Pakatan's election machinery for the coming state polls.

"It was only a normal meeting chaired by the MB and there was nothing special about it.

"Some may want to describe it as an emergency meeting as we received a short notice following the dissolution of the Johor assembly yesterday," he added.
