Cops on the hunt for three suspects believed involved in Manjung armed robbery


IPOH: The police are tracking down suspects involved in an armed gang robbery in Manjung, Perak.

Manjung OCPD Asst Comm Hasbullah Abd Rahman said three suspects, believed to be Indonesian nationals, entered a house in Pekan Gurney and threatened the victim with machetes before fleeing with cash and jewellery on Sunday (May 31).

“A report was received at 6.27am on Sunday regarding an armed gang robbery earlier that morning," he said in a statement today (June 1).

"No injuries were reported, and the estimated losses amounted to RM10,000.”

ACP Hasbullah added that the case is being investigated under Sections 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed gang robbery.

He noted that four similar incidents involving the same modus operandi had previously been reported in the Ayer Tawar and Pekan Gurney areas this year, and police are actively working to identify and arrest the suspects.

“The public with information are urged to assist investigations by contacting the Manjung district police headquarters operations room at 05-688 6222, the police WhatsApp hotline at 017-682 8005 or the nearest police station,” he said.
