Police: No shots were fired during Nilai arrest

NILAI: Police did not fire any shots while arresting four suspects believed to be linked to a robbery in Johor during an operation at Dataran Nilai.

Nilai OCPD Supt Johari Yahya said the suspects, including a woman, were apprehended without any gunfire being discharged.

“A video clip has gone viral on social media claiming that police fired shots while arresting the four suspects. We would like to clarify that no shots were fired during the operation,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The suspects, aged between 22 and 28, are believed to have been involved in a robbery in Tangkak, Johor, on Saturday, in which the victim sustained injuries.

Supt Johari said police also seized two vehicles, including one allegedly used during the robbery, as well as several mobile phones believed to be connected to the case.

He also urged the public not to spread unverified videos or information related to the incident.
