Three dead, one seriously hurt after car crashes into cement lorry on Karak Highway


KUALA LUMPUR: Three men in their 20s were killed while a woman was seriously injured after the car they were travelling in crashed into the rear of a cement lorry at KM34 of the Kuala Lumpur-bound Karak Expressway near Kampung Sungai Chinchin early Friday (May 22).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received an emergency call at 2.07am before a team from the Selayang fire station was dispatched to the scene.

He said firefighters arrived at the location at 2.35am and found four victims trapped inside the car following the collision.

“One woman, aged 27, suffered severe head injuries and a fractured left leg, while three men in their 20s were pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel,” he said in a statement today.

Ahmad Mukhlis said all victims were successfully extricated by firefighters before being handed over to the Health Ministry for further action.

The operation was brought under control at 3.15am.
