RTM-telco collaboration to air all 104 World Cup 2026 matches nationwide, says Fahmi

KUALA LUMPUR: A strategic cooperation between Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and three major telecommunications companies will ensure all 104 matches of the Fifa World Cup 2026 are broadcast nationwide, says Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

He said RTM, the public broadcaster under the Communications Ministry, had announced a strategic collaboration with Unifi, CelcomDigi and U Mobile to expand access to world-class sports content for Malaysians.

“The sponsorship of the Fifa World Cup 2026 broadcast expands access to world-class sporting events for the rakyat while strengthening the role of public broadcasting so that quality content can be enjoyed by all levels of society at no additional cost,” he said on Wednesday (May 13).

Fahmi added that, following his announcement last week, all 104 matches would now be aired on both RTM and Unifi TV.

“I am pleased to announce that all 104 matches will be shown on RTM and Unifi TV. Both platforms will broadcast the full 104 matches,” he said.

Through the high-impact collaboration, Fahmi said Unifi TV and RTM, as official broadcasters together with sponsoring partners, would provide high-quality coverage with extensive nationwide reach.

He said matches could be viewed through Unifi TV services as well as RTM channels.

He added that parallel broadcasts, delayed telecasts and video-on-demand (VOD) services would also be available via the Unifi TV 2.0 platform and RTM Klik.
