KUALA LUMPUR: Their Majesties Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah, King and Queen of Malaysia, today extended Mother’s Day greetings to all mothers across the country.

According to a post on the King’s official Facebook page, His Majesty also expressed his deepest appreciation to Her Majesty for her sincerity and dedication in raising their children with boundless love.

Sultan Ibrahim said that mothers are the first teachers, protectors, and character builders, who help shape the nation’s future.

"A mother plays many roles in shaping one’s character. From them, we learn the values of compassion, resilience and the meaning of sacrifice,” he said.

His Majesty also reminded that, as emphasised in religion, devotion to one’s mother is key to attaining blessings in this world and the hereafter.

At the same time, Their Majesties called on the people to continue offering prayers for the well-being of mothers who have passed on.

"May Allah SWT always bless the late Enche’ Besar Hajah Khalsom Abdullah and the late Raja Perempuan Muzwin. Al-Fatihah,” His Majesty said. - Bernama
