Main suspects in Kapar arson case still being sought, says Selangor top cop


SHAH ALAM: Investigations into an arson case in Kapar, Klang, that damaged two vehicles are still ongoing, police said.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar said that earlier arrests were only to facilitate investigations.

"The investigation is still active and we are tracing the suspects involved," he said on Friday (May 8) when asked for updates on the case.

"As of now there has not been a positive arrest.

"Those detained previously were to assist investigations. We have yet to arrest the main suspects."

Two cars were damaged in the April 29 incident.

The 55-year-old owner told police that he had heard an explosion earlier.

CCTV footage showed four men men on two motorcycles smashing the vehicles' windows before pouring petrol and setting them on fire.
