Army truck crash at SUKE Bukit Teratai Toll Plaza injures 15 soldiers


KUALA LUMPUR: Fifteen soldiers were injured after a Malaysian Armed Forces truck lost control and crashed into a toll plaza along the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) in Ampang Jaya on Thursday (April 30).

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Khairul Anuar Khalid said the incident occurred at about 4.40pm at the Bukit Teratai toll plaza.

"Initial investigations revealed that the truck, travelling from Kem Sungai Besi towards Kuala Kubu Bharu, is believed to have suffered brake failure before the driver lost control and crashed into the toll plaza area," he said in a statement on Friday (May 1).

He said all 15 passengers seated at the rear of the vehicle sustained injuries and were taken to Hospital Ampang by ambulance for further treatment.

Khairul Anuar said police are investigating the case under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving.
