Johor drivers can soon transfer MBJB Spot credit to Parkmax@Johor

JOHOR BARU: Johor motorists will soon be able to transfer their credit from the existing Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) parking app to the new app.

State housing and local government committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor said the credit would be transferred automatically, but technical issues are still being ironed out by the app providers.

“The migration from the current app (MBJB Spot) to the new Parkmax@Johor app is necessary.”

“We want to eventually integrate the parking system for all 16 local councils in Johor under one single app,” he told reporters after attending a dialogue session with about 100 Chinese non-governmental organisations on Thursday (April 30).

Mohd Jafni said that, at the moment, six other local councils have already adopted Parkmax@Johor, including Iskandar Puteri City Council, Kulai Municipal Council, Tangkak District Council and Mersing District Council.

MBJB Spot was introduced in 2024. Beyond parking, it serves as a portal for users to check and pay traffic summonses or compounds issued by MBJB.

On April 15, the council announced that the MBJB Spot app would end on April 30.

There was initial public backlash, with many noting that they still had a lot of credit in the existing app.

On April 16, MBJB clarified that users could transfer their credit to Parkmax@Johor.
