Remand of military officer in drink-driving case extended to April 30


KUALA LUMPUR: The Armed Forces officer implicated in the fatal drink-driving incident that killed a Bangladeshi social media creator has had his remand extended.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa confirmed this when contacted on Wednesday (April 29).

"The remand for the officer in question has been extended until April 30.

"As of now, 12 people have had their statements recorded.

"The investigation paper is being completed and will be referred (to the deputy public prosecutor) tomorrow for further instructions," he said.

On April 23, a fatal crash killed one person and injured two more after the officer, believed to be under the influence of alcohol, drove against traffic and collided with a car along the Maju Expressway (MEX).
