Perlis Amanah youth chief quits party, says leadership not about position but integrity

KLANG: A crisis may be brewing in Perlis Amanah following the resignation of the party's state youth chief.

Dr Ahmad Fadhzil Mohamad said in a statement Wedneseday (April 29) that he has decided to leave the party and relinquish all his party positions.

"This decision was made after a long, careful and deep period of deliberation, especially over my role as a young leader as well as the direction I want to take," Dr Ahmad Fadhzil explained.

He said he has noticed a seriously escalating gap between his and Amanah's direction in the current political climate.

"As a young leader, I believe that leadership is not just about position but courage to hold on to the principles of integrity and responsibility towards the people," said Dr Ahmad Fadhzil.

Besides being the state's Amanah Youth chief, the medical doctor was also Amanah health bureau chief and Kangar Amanah youth chief.
