12 Selangor cops in crypto robbery probe remain on inactive duty

SHAH ALAM: The 12 policemen allegedly involved in a cryptocurrency robbery case remain on “inactive duty”, says the state’s top cop.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar said this at a press conference at the continent headquarters here on Tuesday (April 28).

"They are still on duty, but not at the operational level. They have been relieved of active frontline duties and are being monitored by their respective department heads," he said.

Previously, the 12 were arrested after an alleged gang robbery involving eight Chinese nationals.

The victims alleged that they were forced to transfer around RM200,000 in cryptocurrency to the suspects.
