Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected in 10 states until 9pm, says MetMalaysia


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting 10 states until 9pm Saturday (April 25).

It said in a statement Saturday that the weather conditions are expected to affect the entire states of Perlis, Kedah and Penang.

In Perak, the affected areas are Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim.

Meanwhile, on the East Coast, similar weather is expected to affect Hulu Terengganu in Terengganu, Kelantan (Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang) as well as Pahang (Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh and Maran).

The weather warning also involves several areas in Selangor, namely Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat and Sepang.

In addition, Seremban, Port Dickson and Rembau in Negri Sembilan, as well as Alor Gajah and Melaka Tengah in Melaka, are also expected to experience similar weather conditions. - Bernama
