Social media abuzz after China national's outburst on AirAsia flight goes viral

PETALING JAYA: Social media is abuzz following the outburst of a China national onboard an AirAsia flight.

A video of the verbal spat between the agitated passenger and Chinese airport authorities has gone viral on social media with commenters mainly making light of the situation.

"Aiyo this is a budget airline. Can reach destination on time is good enough. Why must crew speak all languages?” one commenter said on Instagram.

Another wrote “her thought process 'if I shout louder, this might all go away'".

According to captions and comments on the video, the woman claimed to be a flight attendant for a Chine airline herself which did not go unnoticed by commenters.

"Ehhh she said she was a flight attendant at China Southern Airline…then why doesn’t she speak English? China Southern is an international airline too,” a commenter wrote.

A video uploaded by the South China Morning Post had led to 16,700 likes and 3,697 comments.

In the video, the passenger can be seen speaking in a loud voice demanding compensation after she alleged that the AirAsia air steward could not converse with her in Mandarin and that she demanded that everyone around her to delete videos of her.

The video also showed a group of passengers recording the incident, with many showing bemused expressions on their faces.

It is learnt that the woman was later removed from the AirAsia flight en route from Chongqing, China, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on April 22.
