Digital Ministry to decentralise EDLP training hubs

ALOR GAJAH: The Digital Ministry is discussing measures to expand Executive Digital Leadership Programme (EDLP) training centres to the state level to facilitate easier access for participants.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo (pic) said the training centre is currently located only in Kuala Lumpur, which poses a logistical challenge for participants who must undergo three months of training.

“The EDL programme focuses on training participants to use artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance performance in various fields by using data for analysis.

“For example, if a teacher joins this programme, they will be able to assess a student’s potential based on data and make more accurate decisions regarding the student’s future direction,” he told reporters after attending the Digital Leadership Symposium for National-Type Tamil School (SJKT) Headmasters on the Madani Education Reform 2026 in Simpang Ampat, near here, yesterday, Bernama reported.

Ending today, the three-day symposium has drawn 470 SJKT headmasters.

Gobind said the programme is available at no cost to civil servants in Grade 13 for federal officers and Grade 12 for state officers.

For the private sector, he said, the ministry provides incentives by sponsoring RM25,000 for each participant.

He said that the programme is currently entering its 11th cohort, each consisting of 50 participants.

Those interested in joining the programme can visit the ministry’s website at https://www.digital.gov.my/.
