JPJ’s special "P_P" plates draw over 6,000 bidders

PUTRAJAYA: The special "P_P" vehicle registration number series has continued to receive an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response since it opened on Monday (April 20).

Road Transport Department (JPJ) director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said more than 6,000 bidders have taken part so far, reflecting the public's enduring appetite for premium vehicle registration numbers.

"Several top numbers have also seen intense competition, while popular numbers remain a firm favourite among bidders," he said in a statement today.

Aedy Fadly also urged the public not to miss their chance to join the "P_P" series bidding, which now has just one more day to go before closing.

JPJ launched the special "P_P" index series to mark the department's 80th anniversary.

The exclusive series is symbolic, commemorating the department’s role and eight decades of contributions to the development of the country's transport system.

Minimum bid prices are set by category: top numbers start at RM20,000, premium (RM5,000), attractive (RM2,500), popular (RM500) and regular (RM300). – Bernama
