Two men arrested in Sandakan diesel smuggling raid


KOTA KINABALU: Two local men who were caught transferring fuel from a lorry to a skid tank have been arrested in Sandakan on suspicion of smuggling subsidised goods.

About 2,100 litres of diesel worth around RM12,537 were also seized during a raid at a diesel storage premises in Kg Batu 11, Jalan Seguntor, at about 2.45pm on Monday, according to Sandakan marine police on Tuesday (April 21).

Also confiscated were a 10-tonne lorry and equipment used for transferring fuel.

The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
