Express bus driver turns himself in

JASIN: An express bus driver caught on video driving en route to Johor with a woman seated on his lap has surrendered himself to police.

The 36-year-old arrived at the Jasin district police headquarters at about 4.30pm yesterday, accompanied by the woman.

Both individuals are understood to have come forward voluntarily to assist investigations into the incident.

On Tuesday, Jasin OCPD Supt Lee Robert said police had already contacted both parties and received their assurance that they would present themselves to assist in the probe, which is being carried out under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.

The case has sparked public concern over road safety.
