Foreigner nabbed for fleeing police roadblock in Sg Besi

KUALA LUMPUR: A foreigner has been arrested after attempting to flee a roadblock along Pekan Sungai Besi.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud, in a statement on Sunday (April 12), said that the incident on April 7 occurred at 6.23am after a car was stopped at the roadblock there.

Three men were found in the car at the time, and they were told to comply, but instead sped off.

During their escape attempt, the car collided with two other vehicles in the area.

"A 53-year-old Indonesian was arrested at the scene while the two other suspects escaped.

"Investigations showed that the suspect had no identification papers," he said.

The arrested Indonesian has been remanded until April 20. The case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of their duties, and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act for not possessing valid identification or permit documents.
