Sultan Ibrahim confers Johor titles, four datukships in conjunction with official birthday


JOHOR BARU: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has conferred state titles to royal family members and datukships to four recipients in conjunction with his official birthday as Johor Ruler.

The Sultan of Johor's official birthday falls on March 23.

Leading the list is Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim’s wife Che’ Puan Mahkota Khaleeda Johor, who was conferred the Darjah Sultan Ibrahim Johor Yang Amat Disanjungi Pangkat Pertama Dato’ Sri Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (SMIJ).

She had recently safely delivered the couple’s fifth child, a daughter, on Sunday (April 5).

The investiture ceremony was officiated by Tunku Ismail at Istana Besar here on Thursday (April 9).

Sultan Ibrahim also consented to confer his son Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj Sultan Ibrahim with the Pingat Jasa dan Lama Dalam Pekerjaan (PJP).

Meanwhile, the four recipients of Dato’ Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (DMIJ), which bears the title of Datuk, are Johor legal adviser Datuk Abd Aziz Engan, Special Branch director Comm Datuk Ibrahim Darus, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Comm Datuk M. Kumar and Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad.

Johor Military Force (JMF) deputy commanding officer Major Ahmad Hamdan Libar and the Johor Regent’s JMF aide-de-camp Major Asrulfaizad Selamat were bestowed the Darjah Sultan Ibrahim Johor Yang Amat Disanjungi Pangkat Ketiga Setia Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (SIJ).

A total of 100 recipients were given Pingat Kerana Lama dan Baik Dalam Pekerjaan, followed by Pingat Jasa Dan Lama Dalam Pekerjaan (77 recipients), Pingat Sultan Ibrahim Pangkat Kedua (157) and Pingat Sultan Ibrahim Pangkat Ketiga (39).
