Honesty the best policy to drive Sabah’s development efforts, Hajiji tells civil servants

Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman accompanied by his wife Toh Puan Faridah Tussin, cut his 75th Birthday cake at the State Banquet in Kota Kinabalu on Monday night.

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor called on the civil service to carry out duties with full honesty and integrity to ensure the state meets its wide range of comprehensive development initiatives.

“In delivering this agenda, civil servants must perform their duties with full dedication, honesty and integrity to ensure that every government policy and initiative can be implemented better and more effectively,” he said at the State Banquet in conjunction with the 75th official birthday celebration of the Head of State Tun Musa Aman here.

He also called on all parties to play their part in upholding professionalism, maintaining discipline and adhering to integrity in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.

“I am confident that administration grounded in integrity and good governance will be able to boost investor confidence, strengthen the state’s economic competitiveness and create a conducive environment for sustainable development,” he said.

With the formation of the new Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition state government for a second term in November last year, he said a holistic development agenda based on Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya MJ 2.0 – a continuation of the Hala Tuju SMJ 1.0 policy, will serve as a guide and platform for the state development.

“This includes an emphasis on strengthening the state economy, infrastructure development and improving healthcare, education, safety and other facilities for the well-being of the people.

“The successful implementation of the SMJ 1.0 Development Plan gave us confidence that the government’s administrative approach over the past five years has been on the right track,” he said.
