Cash aid for diesel users raised to RM300

KUALA LUMPUR: The RM200 Budi Madani cash assistance under the diesel subsidy rationalisation programme has been increased to RM300.

In a recent Facebook post, the Finance Ministry said the cash assistance has been temporarily increased for recipients under the Budi Diesel for Individual and Agri-Commodity programmes, effective March 17.

The measure aims to ease the financial burden on diesel users following the rise in global fuel prices.

The retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia has risen by 80sen to RM5.52 per litre, while prices in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan will remain unchanged at RM2.15 per litre from yesterday to April 1.

On Wednesday, the ministry announced that the retail price of RON97 petrol would increase by 60sen to RM5.15 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of unsubsidised RON95 petrol will go up by 60sen to RM3.87 per litre for the same period.

The subsidised RON95 petrol price under the Budi95 initiative will remain unchanged at RM1.99 per litre.
