Heavy traffic along Kuala Krai-Gua Musang route as travellers head home

GUA MUSANG: Slow traffic was reported along a 20km stretch of the Kuala Krai-Gua Musang road from the Rantau Manis R&R area heading towards town.

Gua Musang OCPD Supt Sik Choon Foo attributed the congestion to an increase in vehicles travelling back to the Klang Valley after the Aidilfitri celebrations.

"Road users are advised to remain patient and exercise tolerance on the roads to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow.

"The public is also advised to plan their journeys and drive carefully to prevent accidents that could worsen congestion,” he said when contacted on Tuesday (March 24).

Meanwhile, a check of several main routes from Kuala Krai to Gua Musang, including near the Kesedar Paloh Land Development Plan (RKT), found that traffic was moving slowly as of 3pm, with delays expected.

Mohd Firdaus Nur Ahmad, 37, said he spent over three hours on the road from Kuala Krai to Gua Musang because of heavy traffic.

"I had to take a break at the Gua Musang R&R stop before continuing my journey back to the federal capital to get back to work tomorrow," he said. – Bernama
