Two men arrested in Mersing for 'indecent act' in parked car

JOHOR BARU: Two men have been arrested by Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ) enforcement officers for alleged indecent behaviour in a car.

The men were detained in Mersing during an evening inspection recently, Sinar Harian reports.

"Four enforcement officers were carrying out operations, patrolling in a van to prevent immoral activities in the district," JAINJ said in a statement on Monday (March 23).

It said the enforcement officers noticed a parked car rocking back and forth, left the van and walked over to the driver's side window.

"The officers could see inside the car and saw the men allegedly engaging in an immoral act.

"They knocked on the car door and showed the men their identification.

"One of the men then opened the car door.

"The officers ordered the men to exit the car but they did not do so immediately as neither of them was wearing pants, only T-shirts," the statement read.

Further checks found that one man is a 30-year-old Malaysian from another state who is currently working in the district, while the other man is an unemployed Pakistani national in his 20s, it added.

It said the men will be charged in court.
