DAP launches 60th anniversary celebration with ‘Malaysia for Malaysians’ theme

PETALING JAYA: DAP has officially launched its 60th anniversary celebration, adopting the theme “Malaysia for Malaysians” to honour its six decades of political struggle and inspire a new generation to build a more just, inclusive, and prosperous nation.

In a statement on Wednesday (March 18), the party said the celebration was to mark a significant transformation from the party's early years, with DAP now holding governing responsibilities at both the state and federal levels.

"At the 18th national party congress, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke outlined the party’s renewed vision as 'nation builders,' rooted in the core values of the Malaysian nation.

"Reflecting this direction, the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) adopted 'Malaysia for Malaysians' as the official theme for DAP60," it said.

DAP added that the theme carried two central messages.

The first is loyalty to the founding principles of serving the people and defending the interests of workers, small traders, hawkers, and the vulnerable.

The second is a guiding compass for nation-building, with all DAP members, especially those in government, called to uphold these principles as the foundation for all nation-building efforts.

"Throughout the year, a variety of political education activities, youth programs, arts and sports events, and historical exhibitions will be held nationwide.

"The public can follow program developments and explore DAP’s journey over the past 60 years via the official DAP60 website, https://dap60.my.
