Sabah’s rice supply can last until Sept

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s rice supply can last until September, says Datuk Jamawi Jaafar.

The state Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industries Minister said although there are some districts facing rice supply shortages, the overall stockpile is adequate for the needs of Sabahans.

He said according to Bernas Sabah, areas facing rice shortages are having their supplies restocked.

The situation should stabilise once all the rice stock is tabulated, including those held by retailers and traders, he added.

Jamawi said proactive measures are being taken to ensure consistent supply.
