Pahang rewards Emmy winner for global success

JERANTUT: The Pahang state government will provide a special incentive to composer Joy Ngiaw following her win at the 4th Children’s and Family Emmy Awards held in New York last Monday.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the incentive would serve as a token of appreciation for the Pahang-born composer’s achievement on the international stage.

“I would like to congratulate and thank Joy Ngiaw for bringing pride to the state of Pahang and the country. I hope she will continue to excel,” he said after announcing the 2026 dividend of Koperasi Serbausaha Makmur Bhd (Kosma) at the Jerantut District and Land Office yesterday.

On March 2, Ngiaw won the Outstanding Music Direction and Composition for an Animated Program award for her musical score in the animated series WondLa, which streams on Apple TV+.

Meanwhile, Wan Rosdy said Kosma will distribute plantation unit dividends totalling RM30.62mil to 1,494 members, as well as an advance dividend of one plantation unit valued at RM6,000 to each member, amounting to RM8.964mil in total.

He added that Kosma will also provide a Hari Raya bonus of RM2,000 to all members, involving a total payout of RM2.986mil, reported Bernama.

He said the balance of the plantation unit dividend will be paid after the cooperative’s annual general meeting scheduled for June 20, while dividends on share capital will be distributed after approval from the Malaysia Cooperative Societies Commission.
