Saving up for their wedding, RM1 at a time

TO save up for their wedding, two lovebirds in Seremban, Negri Sembilan, have taken to selling desserts priced at only RM1, Harian Metro reported.

Their hard work paid off as they could sell about 500 of the delectable delights such as caramel pudding and cheese tarts.

“My soon-to-be wife and I started this about seven months ago,” said Muhammad Adha Jefri, 26.

“Initially, we priced each item at RM7. But we discovered a video showing people selling the same products at only RM1. So we tried doing so too,” he added.

Muhammad Adha said they began selling desserts at this price in November last year, with sales picking up throughout December.

> It has been nearly a year since the death of his daughter, but Maslihaizan Yahya, 50, is still holding on to a water tumbler she once used.

“She brought the bottle with her everywhere. Having the bottle around me makes me feel as if my late daughter is still near me,” Maslihaizan told Utusan Malaysia.

His daughter Sufea Adela, 21, was among 15 students of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris who died in a tragic bus crash in June last year. They were on their way from Terengganu to the campus in Tanjung Malim, Perak, when the accident happened on the East-West Highway.
