Couple, baby girl injured after car veers off road near Batu Pahat following burst tyre


BATU PAHAT: A married couple and their 10-month-old baby girl were injured after the car they were travelling in is believed to have lost control and veered off the road.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the incident occurred at KM19 of Jalan Kluang–Batu Pahat at 2.40am on Saturday (Feb 28).

“The car driven by a 26-year-old local man, is believed to have lost control and skidded off the road, allegedly due to a burst tyre.

“The baby girl suffered severe head injuries and is currently being treated in the red zone of Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail here.

“Meanwhile, the driver, who sustained injuries to his left hand, and his 41-year-old wife, who suffered head injuries, are being treated in the yellow zone of the same hospital,” he said in a statement.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
