Cops hunting duo over attempted snatch theft in Bukit Beruntung

PETALING JAYA: Police are tracking down two men believed to be involved in an attempted snatch theft in front of a sundry shop in Bukit Beruntung, Selangor.

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Ibrahim Husin said police received a report of the incident at about 9pm on Friday (Feb 27).

He said the incident occurred while the victim was seated outside the premises and talking on her mobile phone.

“Suddenly, her necklace was snatched from behind by a man wearing a helmet and a black jacket.

“The suspect pulled at a yellow cord with three gold pendants, causing it to snap and fall to the ground,” he said in a statement on Saturday (Feb 28).

He added that the suspect fled on a black motorcycle ridden by an accomplice.

He said the motorcycle’s registration number and the direction in which the suspects fled could not be ascertained.

However, the victim did not suffer any injuries or losses in the incident.
