PETALING JAYA: PAS has strongly condemned the Israel and the United States’ military strikes against Iran reported on Saturday (Feb 28).
“The blatant attack carried out during the negotiation process is deplorable, as it not only violates the norms of universal justice but also constitutes a war crime that contravenes international law and the UN Charter.
“Moreover, this assault exposes the true nature of the US and its ally Israel as actors who blatantly disregard international law and universal humanitarian values,” said PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
As such, he said PAS is calling for firm action by the UN Security Council and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to immediately halt this uncivilised aggression and for the denouncement of the arrogance of the US, whom he described as a staunch ally of the illegitimate Israeli regime, in a situation that could jeopardise global peace.
Similarly, Bersatu’s Armada (youth) wing has also condemned the attacks against Iran and called it a blatant violation of international law, as well as an attempt to threaten the stability of the Middle East for the sake of the US and Israel’s imperialist agenda and big power hegemony.
“The argument that the attacks were supposedly a preventive action towards Iran’s nuclear threat is a recycled excuse that does not make sense.
“It is an outdated propaganda tactic that has been used during the invasion of Iraq in 2003 to justify the killing of civilians and the violation of the sovereignty of a country,” said Bersatu Armada’s communication and new media department director Na’im Brundage.
That the attacks were launched amidst the negotiations process shows that the US and Israel are the most dangerous international terrorist organisations, he added.
“The global community should realise that the self-defence narrative espoused by Israel is a huge lie to justify the act of oppressing other countries,” he said.
As such, Bersatu Armada is urging the Malaysian government to sternly demand for an immediate end to these illegal attacks and aggressions at the international level.
“We cannot stand by while big powers continue to bully smaller countries at will,” said Na’im.
