MetMalaysia: Thunderstorm, heavy rain to hit KL, Putrajaya, seven states until 7pm


KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and seven states are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds until 7pm on Thursday (Feb 19).

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in a warning issued at 2.55pm, said the states set to be affected are Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Selangor (Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang).

The same warning has also been issued for Pahang (Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Bera and Rompin) and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Baru).

In Sabah, the affected areas are the interiors (Tenom, Beaufort, Nabawan, Keningau and Tambunan), the West Coast (Papar, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran) and Tawau.

The areas expected to be affected in Sarawak include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi) and Limbang. — Bernama
