Lorry driver killed in crash with van at Felda Kahang Timur


KLUANG: A lorry driver perished in an accident involving a van at Jalan Felda Kahang Timur near here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the incident took place at Kampung Sri Timur on Wednesday (Feb 11) at 1pm.

He said the 44-year-old victim, a local man, was travelling from Felda Kahang Timur towards Kluang when the lorry he was in collided with a van.

“The van driven by a 20-year-old Malaysian man was exiting the junction at Kampung Sri Timur,’’ ACP Bahrin said in a statement.

He said the lorry driver who suffered severe head injuries was pronounced dead at the scene, while the van driver sustained injuries to his head and right arm.

ACP Bahrin said the van driver is currently being treated at the yellow zone of the emergency unit of Enche’ Hajjah Besar Khalsom Hospital near here

He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
