PM Anwar checks out the ETS with a ride to Johor Baru

JOHOR BARU: Passengers on the Electric Train Service (ETS) from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Baru on Sunday (Feb 1) got a surprise with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim taking the ride with them.

Anwar said he took advantage of the Thaipusam and Federal Territory Day public holiday on Sunday with a trip from the capital to the southern state while inspecting the train service’s operations.

“I also took the chance to mingle with passengers and get their views and feedback about the service directly.

“The response received was very encouraging, especially regarding the comfort level and experience of the journey, which is smoother and more systematic,” he said in a Facebook post.

Passengers could be seen shaking hands and taking photos with the Prime Minister during the journey.

Anwar added that the government would continue to give priority to strengthening the public transport sector.
