NILAI: An e-hailing driver sustained minor injuries after a fight with a passenger in Bandar Baru Nilai early on Wednesday (Jan 28).

Nilai police chief Supt Johari Yahya said the driver, who sought medical treatment, lodged a report around 3.40am.

"Based on the report, the incident is believed to have stemmed from a misunderstanding between the two before an argument escalated into a fight.

"The case is being probed under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt," he said in a statement.

Johari advised the public not to speculate on the case, as it could interfere with the investigation. Those with information have been urged to share it with the police.

He said all e-hailing service users and passengers need to exercise restraint, comply with regulations, and avoid any actions that could provoke or escalate conflict.
