JB crane operator dies 45m above ground, Bomba deploys specialised tools to retrieve body


JOHOR BARU: A crane operator died while he was in his machine some 45m above ground on Friday (Jan 23).

Tebrau Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Noor Azhan Ahmad said they received an emergency call about the incident in Taman Seri Austin here at 9.51am on Friday.

“The 33-year-old victim was found unconscious in the crane operator’s booth.

“We used specialised equipment and a bucket stretcher to carry the victim down from the crane from a height of 45m,” he said in a statement.

He added that the victim, identified as Muhamad Aliff Ishak, was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical official from the Health Ministry.
