King wishes Brunei Ruler swift recovery after surgery

PETALING JAYA: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has conveyed his best wishes to the Sultan of Brunei ahead of a scheduled knee treatment.

In a message posted on His Majesty’s official Facebook page, Sultan Ibrahim said together with the people of Malaysia, they will pray for the well-being of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

The Brunei Ruler is due to undergo treatment starting Jan 18.

“Myself and the people pray that Your Majesty will safely undergo the treatment and be granted holy blessings for a complete recovery with all related matters eased,” said Sultan Ibrahim.

Separately, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also extended his prayers and well-wishes to Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

In a Facebook post, Anwar said he had received news that the Sultan of Brunei will undergo medical treatment soon, Bernama reported.

“I pray that His Majesty is gran­ted lasting good health and remains under the protection and grace of Allah SWT.

“May His Majesty continue to rule the Nation of Brunei Darussalam with wisdom and sound judgement,” said the Prime Minister.

According to a statement from the Brunei Prime Minister’s Office, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah is scheduled to undergo a right knee replacement surgery.
