Storm warning: Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected in six states, three FTs until 9pm


 

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather warning, with thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast in six states and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan until 9pm Monday (Jan 5).

In a statement Monday, MetMalaysia said the areas affected include Perak (Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Selangor (Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang), and Negri Sembilan (Seremban and Port Dickson).

In Sarawak, the areas affected are Serian, Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong (Betong), Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit and Selangau), Mukah (Mukah), Kapit (Song, Kapit and Bukit Mabong), Bintulu, Miri and Limbang, while in Sabah the areas affected are in the Interior, West Cost, Tawau (Tawau, Kunak and Lahad Datu), and Sandakan (Tongod, Kinabatangan, and Sandakan).
