The store’s second phase expansion overseas opens in Malaysia on Jan 9 next year
TOHO Co, Ltd (Toho), in collaboration with Toho Entertainment Asia and Malaysian partner M&M Creations Holdings, is set to open South-East Asia’s first permanent official Godzilla Store Malaysia at LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre, Kuala Lumpur on Jan 9 next year.
In addition to the various Godzilla Stores currently operating in Japan, the first overseas store, Godzilla Store Taipei opened on Sept 26 has been welcomed by numerous fans and highly praised as a place for fans to fully experience the Godzilla brand. Building on this success, the second overseas Godzilla Store is set to open in Malaysia.
Two-metre tall Godzilla Statue on display plus exclusive merchandise
No Godzilla Store will be complete without a Godzilla statue. Like all the other Japanese stores, the entrance to Godzilla Store Malaysia will feature a brand-new two-metre-tall statue created especially for this store.
This statue was featured in a 70th anniversary commemorative video created by Toho’s partner, Igloo Studios called 70 Years of Godzilla: A New Roar in Southeast Asia, which was released in May this year for fans in South-East Asia.
Inside the store, visitors can enjoy an immersive environment with themed walls, neon decorations, and photo spots, while browsing a wide range of official Godzilla merchandise.
The store is also designed to function as a community hub where fans and their families can gather, with themed displays and in-store events planned regularly.
The opening of Godzilla Store Malaysia is part of Toho’s broader strategy to expand the Godzilla brand across Asia.
In collaboration with Toho Entertainment Asia Pte Ltd, headquartered in Singapore, this initiative aims to bring the authentic Godzilla experience to fans throughout the region, while further enhancing the value of the brand.
To celebrate the store’s opening, visitors can browse a wide range of officially licensed products, collector’s items, apparel and lifestyle goods, as well as exclusive Godzilla Store Malaysia merchandise that will be released gradually after the opening.
From figures to plush toys, the product lineup offers something for both hardcore and casual fans alike.
Those visiting Kuala Lumpur next year can visit the Godzilla Store Malaysia at L2-46, Level 2, The Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre.
