PM Anwar extends Christmas greetings, reaffirms commitment to unity, mutual respect

PETALING JAYA: Genuine unity emerges when every citizen is respected, protected and given space to contribute to the future of the country, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says in a Christmas message on Wednesday (Dec 24).

Anwar said when the world is facing economic uncertainties, humanitarian conflicts and social divisions, Malaysia chooses the path of unity, dialogue and mutual respect as the basis of building the country's future.

“The Madani government believes harmony is not born by chance, but built through fair policies, equal opportunities, and a culture of mutual understanding among multi-faith and ethnic people,” he said in a Facebook post.

“In celebration of this Christmas Day, let us strengthen our resolve to reject hatred and cultivate empathy, as Malaysia's strength lies in unity in diversity.”

Merry Christmas to all Christians who are celebrating it tomorrow, may this celebration bring peace, harmony and prosperity to Malaysia and all its citizens,” he added.
