Be wary of calls from fraudsters posing as Pahang health officers


KUANTAN: The public has been to be wary of phone call from fraudsters claiming to be Pahang Health Department officers.

Pahang Health director Dr Saiful Azlan Sharif said complaints had been received about people receiving phone calls from someone claiming to be a health officer who would tell then they had committed an offence.

"None of our staff members have made such phone calls," he said in a statement on Thursday (Dec 11), warning the public not to be deceived.

He said those who received suspicious calls should not disclose personal information such as their identity card or passport numbers or bank account details.

"Stay calm and try to recall if you have ever had any matters with the Pahang Health Department. If not, ignore the call and report it to police immediately," he said.

He said the department can be contacted at 09-570 7999 from 8am to 5pm. – Bernama
