Haze: STPM, STAM exams in Pahang to proceed as scheduled

KUANTAN: The Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examinations in Pahang will proceed as scheduled despite the haze.

In a statement, the Pahang State Education Department (JPN) said the examinations would be conducted in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOP) and safety measures in force.

"Students attending school, including those sitting for ongoing examinations, are encouraged to wear face masks to protect their health,” it said.

Candidates and examination personnel were advised to refer to their schools, examination centres and the department’s official channels for further notifications and instructions.

Meanwhile, all educational institutions under Pahang JPN in Rompin, Pekan and Kuantan will be closed tomorrow due to the haze affecting the districts.

The department said any changes to the operational status of educational institutions and their reopening would be announced through its official channels and the respective District Education Offices, based on prevailing conditions and safety considerations.

Pahang JPN will continue to monitor the situation in coordination with the three district education offices and relevant agencies to safeguard the health, safety and well-being of students and education personnel.- Bernama
